Elly and Steve are parents to “Arthur” a 17-year-old Maine Coon cat. Elly is a redditor and recently posted on the popular website a magnificent cardboard bed, inspired by the famous Iron Throne in Game of Thrones, which she made for her cat.
Impressed with her work, we talked to Elly about it, “I was looking at this cardboard box, a box of children’s boots that my mother sent me something over. mail, and I thought I could make Arthur a new bed.” Elly said, “I opened it up and it looked like a chair, so I thought I could make a throne, because we used to call him King Arthur. And then I realized that the best throne to do would be the Iron Throne.”
First of all, this is the end result, with Arthur sitting as Lord of the Seven Kingdoms on his new throne.
This is how it all started. “I don’t know what I’m doing,” she said. She pressed the sword to the box. Arthur is still not impressed. Then she added a second cardboard to the bottom, after she edited it so it was a bit more trapezoidal.
According to Elly, the Iron Throne perfectly reflects Arthur’s personality, “Arthur loves to sit and lie in it! He likes to rub his face in it. He’s definitely the head of the house, so it fits. We also have two large dogs and they are quite submissive to Arthur.”
We’re glad to hear that the Lord of the house appreciates Elly’s gift because, as you can see in the photos below, she put a lot of effort into her creation, and it’s a shame. if the results disappoint Arthur.
“He is 17 years old. It’s been my husband’s cat since childhood and we’re so lucky to still have Arthur in our lives,” Elly said. And we have to admit that Arthur is lucky to have loving and caring parents like Elly and Steve. She created the Iron Throne for her Furry Lord.
