Meet Munchie, A Dwarf Cat That Will Look Like A Kitten Forever

Babies, puppies, kittens there’s really nothing cuter than someone completely new to the world, and I think we all sometimes find ourselves wishing we were just a little bit more small. Well, if you have, then you’re going to fall in love with this sweet little guy.

Munchie is a 7 month old kitten but still looks like a kitten and weighs less than 2 kg. This is because he suffers from a rare condition called hypoparathyroidism, which will make him “the size of a kitten” for the rest of his life.

Munchie was saved by his mother, Emily Tomlinson, when he was only three weeks old. The tiny kitten was adopted by the Wolverhampton veterinary facility after being abandoned and Tomlinson, who works at the veterinary facility, decided to adopt it.

In addition to his dwarfism, Munchie also suffers from cloudy eyes, which gives him a rather unique appearance but thankfully doesn’t affect his eyesight. However, Tomlinson theorized that his cloudy eyes were the reason why Munchie was abandoned by his former owner. But while his cloudy eyes don’t bother him, his hypoparathyroidism has recently left him facing a serious health threat.

Last Christmas, Munchie had a breakdown and was on IV fluids for four days, Tomlinson revealed in an interview with LADbible. Fortunately, Munchie has recovered and his downfall has helped draw attention to the fact that he has hypoparathyroidism, which means he is currently receiving supplements that he needs; vitamin D and calcium.

Tomlinson believes that Munchie’s lifespan is comparable to that of a healthy cat, but because hypoparathyroidism is so rare, it’s hard to say for sure. According to Tomlinson, they had only heard of another cat diagnosed with hypoparathyroidism, so they didn’t have much information about how her situation would progress.

For now, they just need to hope for the best. And young Munchie can be safe knowing that he is in the best possible hands; His mother is ready to do everything she can to keep him healthy and happy and she has unhesitatingly spent around £2,500 on Munchie’s boxing day emergency treatment. It is clear that Munchie is greatly loved and we are sure that he will have a very happy life with Tomlinson.

He is a very lovable and playful boy and despite his small size he has a big heart and a big personality. Tomlinson cherishes every moment with her little sweetheart and knows how lucky she is to have him in her life.
