Lost Dog With Only Skin And Bones Left, Can’t Walk Because Of Long Hunger.

Barilla, a dog with only a few working organs left, was brought to a cat and dog rescue facility in Granada, Spain. She was left with only skin and bones. She was only paralyzed in one place, her muscles were very weak, and she could no longer walk.

Center staff are concerned that Barilla, who weighs only 7.2kg, will not survive the serious illness. Also, a life won’t be saved by being late for just one night.

The staff gave Barilla a prop to help her build up her muscles because she couldn’t stand on her own. It was also kept hydrated for six hours before the staff dared to give it anything more nutritious. Barilla suffered scratches from crawling on the ground on all four legs. After 6 hours of being given water, Barilla was able to get up and drink water, but not for long.

After a week of care and treatment, Barilla has gained 4 kg but she still cannot walk or stand for long, but often falls to the ground. Barilla took another six weeks to start eating normally, but she was still able to run and jump like any other healthy dog. Barilla gave the staff their complete attention.

Eduardo Rodriguez, 37, the owner of the shelter, decided to adopt Barilla because they fell in love right away. Currently, Barilla is living with his wife, 14-year-old daughter and five other dogs at his Rodriguez home on the outskirts of Granada. After living on the street for several months, Barilla now owns a home.

Mr. Rodriguez said he had never adopted a dog before one of his dogs died in an accident five years ago. He explained his decision by saying that “her determination to survive was extraordinary and I felt a connection to her the first time I saw her.”

Mr. Rodriguez and Barilla immediately showed intense affection and dedication. Barilla’s recovery is astounding; Since being rescued on day four, she has been eating five to six meals a day and gaining one kilogram a day. Barilla gained 20.8 kg and almost fully recovered.

Barilla was found by locals, who later reported her to the police and rescue facilities. When Barilla was saved, she was only ten months old. Who put the unfortunate dog in this situation is still being investigated by the police.
