Watch What Happens When This Scared Shelter Dog Finally Feels Love – Dog Lover

Have you ever thought about adopting a dog? Violet is a perfect example of a shelter dog that can make the perfect pet.

Whitney, a volunteer with I Stand With My Pack, heard about the Shar-Pei and raced to pick her up. Violet was in a shelter, alone and afraid. She was so sᴇᴠᴇʀᴇly ᴍᴀʟɴᴏᴜʀɪsʜᴇᴅ and fʀɪɢʜᴛᴇɴᴇᴅ. She likely would have been ᴇᴜᴛʜᴀɴɪᴢᴇᴅ quickly due to her ᴘᴏᴏʀ condition.

She immediately took the poor dog to the vet. People were nervous to see what she weighed. You could see every b.o.n.e on Violet’s b.o.dy. The numbers don’t lie, a Shar-Pei should weigh between 40-60 lbs. Violet was under 20 lbs. Their hearts broke for the poor dog.

The dog was afraid to approach the human and after time a while for him to feel the love and care of the volunteers. Whitney tried to pet Violet and calm her down. She felt every vertebra in her spine. Then Whitney kneeled down and the way Violet looked at her confirmed her suspicions. Violet had no idea what love was. This was a turning point for the sweet girl. Her life was surely about to change!
Once in her foster home with Whitney, Violet began to learn what it meant to have frequent meals and be a loving mom. Violet discovers what toys are and even has her very own bed. The first time she walked onto it, Whitney exploded with joy.

As the weeks progressed, Violet put on weight. She learned more things too. How to play with doggy friends and all about happy doggy zoomies! She discovered more things she liked. She’s turning into a happy, healthy doggo and everyone was thrilled!
Violet’s transformation is straight out of a great storybook.
