Unforgettable connection: Amazing Pregnant Elephant Giving BIRTH at Kruger National Park

“This was unplanned and our group happened to be at the right time at the right place. Post-birth celebration and protection from potential prey by the elephant herd is spectacular!”

The birth of a child is one of the most memorable events in a parent’s life. The mother is going through a rather difficult time but in the end, it is something that she will remember with a smile on her face.

A group of tourists was enjoying a standard safari throughout southern Africa. They stopped to watch a herd of elephants who had gathered at a watering hole. Seeing elephants in the wild in and of itself sounds pretty incredible, but they were about to witness something even more amazing.

The tourists weren’t sure what was going on at first, but it quickly became apparent that the elephant was about to give birth! One of the elephants walked away from the herd.  The mother elephant tries to deliver the baby. After, the baby elephant was birth. And the little baby then tries to get his footing and stand with the help of his mom. Babies are usually able to stand within an hour of being born.

“On a safari drive in Chobe National Park, we witnessed a pregnant elephant giving birth,” wrote David Xing who uploaded the video of the elephant birth to the social network.

At that moment, the elephants approached from afar. They seem to be coming to celebrate the birth of a new member. The entire herd gathers around and makes sure to protect the elephant while it’s young.
