This is the kind of story that makes those “uncertain friendships with animals” calendars fly off the shelves. It’s about a little brown dog named Rookie and his best friend in the whole world: a cow. Yes, she is a dairy cow. The sad dog Rookie missed the cow very much when they had to part.
Both are similar in color which is brown. He is very small and she is taller than him, but Rookie often sleeps on her back. They even shared a bowl of water. They cannot be separated.
The farmer who owns these animals has two cows and intends to sell them both. Rookie feels safe beneath his cow mother, and without her, he feels lost and scared. His worst fear came true one day when his cow mother was taken away in a truck.
A moving image posted on her social media by Kritter Klub tells of the love and heartbreak these two best friends have gone through. From the very beginning, you can see pure love and trust as the two share a kiss. Then the worst happened: the cow was dragged out of their common barn. Rookie is completely bewildered and the sad dog all day.
You have never seen such a sad look! Rookie started to cry. Then he took off and ran down the street chasing the cow. The puppy overheard her meows and sniffed her scent and was able to follow her. His men, the ones chasing him, must bring him back. The crafty little dog doesn’t have it. It wriggled and cried, trying to get back to the cow.
Obviously, this separation is not meant to be. At least not yet. Rookie refuses to eat and becomes very antisocial. He was so devastating without his guardians and friends. Rookie was even happier when one day, the cow once again appeared in front of the barn door. She came back! He was very happy to see her again.
The farmer said that he ultimately decided to keep the cow for Rookie’s sake. For now, they’re trying to make Rookie more comfortable with other dogs and people. By using the scent of cows, he feels more comfortable approaching them.
For now, it’s great to see Rookie no longer suffering!
