An event involving the Philly Rescue Angels, a group typically committed to saving and caring for abandoned dogs, received a lot of attention because it was so ᴄʀᴜᴇʟ and ʜᴏʀʀɪʙʟᴇ.
Late one night in Pennsylvania, USA, a group of fund employees came across a puppy that was severely injured and abandoned on a train.
We came to find him but he was motionless. Sidara Son said his hind leg was immobilized. They initially thought that Lucky, the dog, had been hit by a train, but they quickly understood that the situation was much worse.
Lucky’s previous owners did a lot of damage to it. The son commented, “I guess they let it hide the fact that they ʙʀᴏᴋᴇ his back and used the train to cover it up”.
They even had more evidence to suspect that they intentionally hurt the dog when they found the leash and collar unfastened at the scene. Lucky was taken straight to the veterinary hospital, where he was being treated for a severe spinal cord injury. He will have sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ, but there is no way to fix his spine, so the sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ will only make him feel better.
It remains unclear whether the dog will survive due to serious illnesses, cracked teeth and potentially fatal spinal cord injuries. Lucky’s sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ and recovery costs will also range from $15,000 to $35,000, but they’re optimistic they can raise the amount needed through donations and Lucky will be able to take on his ordeal me.
