Stray Dog Adopted By Gas Station Rushes To The Rescue During Armed R.ᴏʙʙᴇʀʏ

Two years ago, when a thin and frightened stray dog started appearing near this gas station in Tamaulipas, Mexico, the staff there did more than just notice it.

Although the pup was sʟʏ at first, showing signs of abuse, they worked to earn his trust. “We feed it, bathe it and vaccinate it,” said Gerardo Aguilar, owner of the station. “We adopted him. Now he lives here and is taken care of by all the workers.”

The employees named their new canine colleague “Randy” but few could have guessed how the heroic sweet pup would repay their kindness.

One evening this week, two armed R.ᴏʙʙᴇʀʏ arrived at the station and asked the valet to open the door to the office where the money was kept. They began to ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ the worker, ᴘᴜɴᴄʜɪɴɢ him and knocking him to the ground.

Randy, who was sleeping in the station’s warehouse, was clearly awakened by the commotion and without delay, he rushed in to drive the attackers away.

Here is the impressive moment captured on surveillance video:

“We were surprised to see how he reacted, and of course we are proud of him,” Aguilar said. “Without Randy, who knows how it would have ended. He showed us how grateful and happy he is to be with us.”

And when Randy isn’t busy being a hero, he’s also making other people happy. Nuria Arellano, a regular customer at Randy’s gas station, says she chose that location for gas mainly because the cute dog lives there.

She hopes more places are inspired to hire feral dogs like Randy. “He makes it a better experience. I always call him, and he walks in the door of my truck and faces me,” Arellano said. “It would be great if the culture changed and more puppies were rescued at gas stations and other stores. Let’s hope this happens one day.”

After all, as Randy demonstrated, having a dog on staff is good for business in many ways.
