When adopting a dog many people will be reluctant to consider a sick or injured dog immediately thinking that vet bills can be expensive and the sad truth is that many people simply cannot afford to feed one of these animals. Hᴇᴀʀᴛʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢʟʏ, this results in a lot of sick dogs spending their whole lives in shelters because no one wants them.
But when a kind woman took her two-year-old daughter to a shelter, her daughter’s reaction was beautiful. The girl immediately fell in love with the sick pit bull and was determined to bring him home. The girl’s mother captured the stunning moment on camera and it was a pleasure to watch.
People can’t fully understand how sweet it is. The girl’s mother narrated as she told the story of how her young daughter Gee fell in love with their pit bull “Scarlett”.
As the two headed to the shelter, Gee’s mom took out her phone and decided to capture the sweet girl face to face with the dogs. But as soon as they entered the room, Gee was immediately attracted to a dog, and she was determined to have it.
“She pointed to the dog in the back,” said Gee’s mother. “My daughter wanted to see her more than any other dog at the shelter today.” It was clear that the pit bull was in bad shape.
She has no name, ‘manga-like’ and ‘runny nose’. But Gee doesn’t care. She can see that the pit bull will be a great friend to her, and that’s what matters. She sat by the crib and looked in while Scarlett looked back with curious eyes. Apparently, Gee started asking her mother to release Scarlett from the cage. “She said ‘mom, that’, she asked me to ‘let the dog out’. Need help.'”
So the pit bull was released from her kennel and Gee was able to walk her for the first time! It was a ᴛᴇʀʀɪꜰʏɪɴɢ experience for Scarlett, who at first panicked and refused to walk. But with Gee’s love and patience, Scarlett finally started walking.
Gee’s mother said: ‘I watched this beautiful dog melt into Gee’s hands. She won’t let my daughter leave her side. Wherever she went, Gee went. Gee even wiped the dog’s nose and eyes with her dress.” Finally, Scarlett was placed back in her crib and she immediately began to shake uncontrollably again. But sweet little Gee refuses to leave her side. She kept looking at her mom and saying “doggy is sick”. Need help.‘ So Gee’s mother decided to give the pit bull a chance, and Scarlett went home with them.
Since Scarlett has gone home, she ‘feels much better‘ now and still doesn’t let Gee out of her sight. Gee gave Scarlett lots of hugs, kisses and belly rubs and the pair formed a beautiful bond.
