Pittie Little Puppy Dumped In A Parking, He Cried a Lot When Rescued

In an empty parking lot in Austin, Texas, a dog named Bluebelle patiently waited for someone to notice him. The senior pittie has nothing but a dog bed to separate her from the hot pavement.

When help finally arrived, Bluebelle looked up at the animal protection officers with sad, sweet eyes and gratefully accepted the reward right from the staff’s hands.

“You can tell how grateful Bluebelle was to be rescued and taken to the shelter,” says Stephanie McCutcheon, marketing coordinator and volunteer at Austin Animal Center. “Bluebelle drank a lot of water on arrival and slept a lot in a comfortable air-conditioned bed for the first few days.”

Bluebelle, believed to be about 9 years old, is currently receiving much-needed care at the Austin Animal Center. Her lost coat and red, rough skin were caused by demodex mange, a skin mite, and she was being treated for conjunctivitis in both eyes.

But Bluebelle refuses to let all of that put her down. “Aside from all the health issues, she’s in good spirits,” McCutcheon said. “She has the cutest smile and even has a bit of encouragement in her walk. We have great Animal Care staff and the Veterinarians took great care of her.”

Shelter staff knew Bluebelle would be more comfortable indoors, and thanks to the puppy’s winning personality, she quickly found a foster family willing to take her in. “Despite her rough appearance, her heart is full of life and she is extremely welcoming to people,” says McCutcheon. “She recently had a meet and greet with a foster family and their dog, and all went well so Bluebelle will be leaving the shelter soon!”

Once Bluebell’s health issues are resolved, the sweet little girl will begin her search for a family that will forever love her for the rest of her years. Bluebell is only happy to have a roof over her head and a comfortable place to rest and relax in her beloved dog bed.
