This blind cat’s injury went over to be used for target practice. Thankfully, the kind person who found Comet rushed the shot cat to Help Paws Humane Foundation, where staff immediately worked to remove the bullets from the severely injured cat’s body.
However, this poor blind cat’s injuries went far beyond being used for target practice.
“He was limping because his leg was infected and ʙʀᴏᴋᴇɴ in four different places,” shelter worker Karen B. told Waggle. Sadly, the poor physical examination and the severity of Comet’s injuries left veterinarians with no choice but to resort to ᴀᴍᴘᴜᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ as a last resort.
“Thank you for supporting Comet, our cat was found to be in need of intensive medical care after being abused by her owner,” Comet caregivers told Waggle, who works with The Animal Rescue Site to provide life-saving care to injured cats.
We are pleased to inform you that Comet has been adopted by a veterinary technician who has been able to manage his ongoing health issues since then, he has received additional veterinary testing and procedures and is one step closer to recovery. Humane Foundation Helping Paws.
Furthermore, Comet’s new family even includes a three-legged cat, which will probably be quite helpful in showing Comet how to move on three legs!
“Comet is doing excellently and is very happy in its new home,” the rescue team wrote. “Thank you again for helping us give cats like Comet the best medical care so they can live their best lives”!
