Man Finds Cat in His Garage but He Doesn’t Own a Cat!

Little did Steve Hamel realize that would be the start of a great ride as he worked on his jeep in the garage late last December.

Steve had seen a great, friendly cat in his garage, and since he didn’t have any, he naturally concluded that she was missing and went looking for safety.

Steve saw the red-haired cat that had joined him in the garage while he was checking the car. The cat entered the jeep calmly, as if he knew exactly what he was doing, and seemed like he wanted to share his extensive knowledge of cats. Steve declared, “Just trying to fix my Jeep. I’m not even a cat person.”

While it’s unknown where the orange kitten might have come from, Steve fell in love instantly, and of course, the dodgy kitten is sure to get his attention, climbing onto his shoulder to hug each other sweetly. She stood right there on her shoulder to twirl and get to know the place as if Steve were her royal carriage.

He thoroughly inspected the Jeep after observing the situation from the top of a trailer. He stops in front of a toolbox and claims it’s his new bed after making sure everything is in order, which catches Steve off guard.

They checked the kitten, but they couldn’t find a collar or microchip to find her family, and they also went to ask the neighbors if anyone knew her. “If it doesn’t work, we will keep the cat. It was a great love.”

The man’s little daughter decided to name the cat “Sally”, and the whole family fell in love with the sweet little girl. They rushed to buy some supplies and a small sign with her name on it.

An enthusiastic Steve added:

“Sally loves to lie on my shoulder and while she has a full set of claws that make it difficult to get around the house, my work jacket makes it pretty comfortable.”

A few days after they discovered the cat, they received a call from a family identifying her as their first pet after Steve shared the story.

Steve said sadly, “We found the owners. These adorable people have been reunited with their beloved cat. They live around the corner and have many touching photos of the cat playing with their daughter. It felt so good to bring them together even though it was heartbreaking at the same time. Although my heart is heavy, I know I did the right thing.”

Meeting and spending time with the kitten moved this family and left a void in their home, so Steve considered adding a new feline member to his family.

“Because we had a cat hole in our heart, we decided to adopt.” Everyone was thrilled when they finally discovered the ultimate integration. Steve explained:

“We had our hearts set on a tabby cat, but this one won us over. Black cats are usually kept less often than other cat breeds and they are very cute”.

The friendly kitten’s surprise visit left a big mark on Steve, showing him that his family was still missing a complete member and they never imagined finding it. That cat in his garage has definitely left some mark on his heart that will be indelible.
