Karlee, a dog rescuer, received a call about a pack of puppies living under a pile of wood at a construction site her friend was demolishing.
The puppies were pulled out by locals but they were quite scared. Karlee left some food and water outside as an enticement, then she went out to help.
When the puppies appear, they can catch them one by one. But to try for their mother, they will have to come back in a few days. She is also considerably more wary of being seen than her cubs when they finally catch her. But one of her feeders came up with the idea of taking the dog; he said if he catches the puppies, mom will follow.
After loading the puppies into his truck, the man began the ten-minute trip to Karlee’s house. To my surprise, my mother was there with me the whole time.
In the end, everything worked out, even if they had to stop frequently to give her a break, it took about a week for the mother to feel secure enough to come in. But she’s relieved to be able to spend time with her kids after she does!
This is simply to demonstrate a mother’s determination to go the extra mile for her children.
