A kitten named “Duck” has only two hind legs, but she doesn’t let anything stop her. Duck is a tiny tabby cat with a strong personality and a greater zest for life.
The unusual looking kitten lost her front legs after a ʜᴏʀʀɪꜰɪᴄ ɪɴᴊᴜʀʏ, she was found with both legs irreparably ᴀᴍᴘᴜᴛᴀᴛᴇᴅ and taken to a veterinary clinic where she had to have her ᴀᴍᴘᴜᴛᴀᴛᴇᴅ. lost her legs to save her life. But despite losing his front legs, Duck has never lost his motivation or love of life.
Duck lives in Florida with her forever foster family and couldn’t be happier. Duck’s pet parents have stated that they suspect that she was ɪɴᴊᴜʀʏ from huddled in the engine compartment of a car, although no one can be sure what really happened.
After being taken to the clinic and undergoing sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ, she was placed in a foster home to have time to heal, recover, and adjust to her new lifestyle while receiving so much love.
Although it was only seen as a temporary position, Duck soon captivated the entire family and cemented her place as a long-term member of the family, despite a terrible ᴀᴄᴄɪᴅᴇɴᴛ and ᴀᴍᴘᴜᴛᴀᴛᴇᴅ of all four limbs. Duck still seems happy and energetic and her happiness has spread to everyone in the house.
Ducks quickly adjust to their new life and never seem to mourn what might happen. Instead, she faces every new challenge with positivity and determination, and soon learns to walk around the house on her own using her hind legs and tail.
The family gave Duck a wheelchair for the kitten, but she never liked it. Kittens love the mobility it can achieve by walking on its hind legs and using its tail for balance. As soon as she deciphered the best use of her hind legs and tail, she began to explore the house and run back and forth across the floor. She was able to achieve incredible speeds and is now zooming around the house and yard all day.
In addition to her human, Duck’s new family includes another cat, three puppies and six hens. You’d think Duck would be most related to a kitten sibling or avian sister with her legs, but actually she is most attracted to the puppies in the family.
The joy of living, the unconditional love for family, the constant desire for fun and adventure perfectly fit the Duck’s personality. She loves hanging out with them, following them around and observing their behavior to learn new things.
Ducklings are lucky to have such a large and loving family, and they are even luckier to have an intelligent and affectionate family member who always makes them laugh and smile.
Duck may lose her legs, but she never loses her spark. This kitten is a true inspiration and we are so glad she has found a family that loves and cherishes everything about her.
