Earlier this month, a kitten was brought to a local rescue in Rowan County, North Carolina after it was rescued as a stray. She was found with a wound to her neck and an upper respiratory infection.
The friendly feral cat with Yoda-like ears was taken to Cabarrus Animal Hospital for treatment. Immediately, she melted the hearts of all the employees there.
“She is being treated by Dr. Alisha Kidwell, DVM, She is a sweet and very emotional girl”. Jana Aviles, veterinary assistant at the hospital shared. The cat weighs about 6.5 pounds. She’s small but full of adorable quirks.
According to Shelby Beers, a veterinary technician, she is missing her front teeth and often sticks out her tongue, but that only adds to her adorable look. “They weren’t sure about his exact age,” Shelby said. He was young, maybe about a year old. He was very small for an adult cat.
She is recovering well and resting comfortably with lots of love from the staff here. The sweet cat has proven to be an adorable bug. She is eager to cuddle and loves to hang out with her friends. “We held her in our hoodie like a baby kangaroo, and she fell asleep,” Shelby said.
The kitten doesn’t have an official name, but staff at the clinic affectionately call her “cat Yoda,” and she has the cutest helicopter ears, similar to Baby Yoda’s. She’s quiet and shy but melts into your arms when you start petting her. She’s just a little bug, a pet cat. The precious kitten is currently at the veterinary hospital where she is receiving the best care to help her recover.
Four million cats are admitted to animal control facilities each year. This sweet cat is one of the lucky ones. No more worrying about food and shelter, the cat Yoda is on her way to an exciting future ahead.
