Keta the Cat, Survives Sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ to Remove Massive Tᴜᴍᴏʀ and Now…

Being a stray pet is hard enough but when you’re a stray pet with medical problems or a ᴅɪsᴀʙɪʟɪᴛʏ, it’s even more difficult. And unfortunately for some stray animals that face such hardships it could be  ᴀ ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ sᴇɴᴛᴇɴᴄᴇ if no one intervenes soon.

Born a street wanderer on the streets of New York, Keta was adopted by a loving care center. Keta the cat is less than a year old, but she has been faced with a predicament exactly she has an extremely large Tᴜᴍᴏʀ that protrudes from the bottom of Keta’s mouth causing her to not only eat, but also see and breathe in same difficulty.

Left alone for just a few more months, Keta could be dead. Thankfully, the Unwanted NYC Pets rescue team found her in time and received the medical care she desperately needed.

Keta is living with a growing Tᴜᴍᴏʀ in her mouth. It’s huge, the size of a baseball. The poor cat is ᴅʏɪɴɢ of starvation but despite the Tᴜᴍᴏʀ she has a strong will to live and the rescuers know they can’t just abandon her.

The obvious solution is sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ, although it is not without risks. Volunteers quickly worked to raise money to help Keta perform the surgery she desperately needed. With the money raised, volunteers were able to send Keta for sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ, a huge risk as the surgery required the removal of part of her jaw Keta risked requiring a feeding tube , lost an eye or ᴅɪsꜰɪɢᴜʀᴇᴅ later and then never found a new home again.

Before anything was done, her Tᴜᴍᴏʀ was carefully examined, and then a plan was devised.

Keta knew well what was going on during his check. The precious little cat expressed gratitude and purred all the way.

Her sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ avoided possible complications and successfully removed the Tᴜᴍᴏʀ.

Keta is now a happy cat on the road to recovery!

After a very short recovery period, Keta’s tumor has completely disappeared, her scars have truly healed and she is finally able to see, eat and breathe comfortably, her skin That’s where the Tᴜᴍᴏʀ is starting to firm up again. Plus, she’s also eating alone.

No doubt, now Keta is finding the task of eating a whole lot easier now that she no longer has that huge lump in her mouth.

Life is starting to get a whole lot brighter for this amazing cat. The only thing that makes it so much better is a permanent home.
