Iɴᴊᴜʀᴇᴅ Police Officer Is Visited By K9 Partner In Hospital

Every year, police officers around the country are injured or worse on the job. They face dangers most people will never know but still go to work every day to protect and serve the community, just like Police Officer Webb Sistrunk did the day he was sʜᴏᴛ in the shoulder.

It was like any other day when Auburn Police Department Officer K9 Sistrunk answered a domestic dispute call. A woman called 911 and said she was injured and officers were dispatched to the scene.

But heartbreakingly, this day will not end like any other. Sistrunk and his fellow officers met a man in armor and armed with a rifle at the door at the home in Arrowhead Park, Auburn. The man appeared to be waiting for them to arrive and sʜᴏᴏᴛ at the officers. Officer William Buechner was ᴋɪʟʟᴇᴅ and officers Webb Sistrunk and Evan Elliott were wounded. Officer Sistrunk survived the incident and was treated at a nearby hospital.

Three days after his injury, he had a special guest; His partner, K9 Leon, has to go to the hospital and visit Sistrunk. K9 Leon was overjoyed to see his partner safe and surrounded by caring friends and family. But, the happy K9 doesn’t seem to understand why his partner won’t let him climb right into the hospital bed with him. He is so excited to meet him and just wants to give his partner and friends lots of kisses.

K9 seemed happy to see everyone at the hospital again, for him it was a big happy reunion. But most of all, he was glad that his mate was safe even though he didn’t understand why he was in bed and not by his side.

Thankfully, Officer Sistrunk made a full recovery and K9 Leon was not injured in the melee. Sistrunk was quickly discharged from the hospital and was strong enough to hug Leon tightly. We hope you enjoy their sweet reunion. As always, please share with your friends.
