Elephant herd’s desperɑte ɑttempt to save injured cɑlf struck by a reckless driver

Heart-breaking moment herds try to rescue injured calf ʜɪᴛ by a speeding car… but cannot do anything to save its life

 

There are times when words are not enough to describe the sadness when a elephants try to bring ᴅʏɪɴɢ calf back to life.

Footage from the Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe shows the baby elephant lying lifelessly on the floor while two adult ʙᴇᴀsᴛs – who appear to be his parents – try ᴅᴇsᴘᴇʀᴀᴛᴇʟʏ to get it to its feet.

Two adult elephants around the baby elephant as it sits back on its hind legs after being ʜɪᴛ by a car. The ᴅᴇsᴘᴇʀᴀᴛᴇ herd surrounds the baby elephant who lies injured in the road after the accident.

Heidi Haas, 66-year-old said.: ‘I was in complete and utter shock when I saw that this baby elephant had been known down by a speeding vehicle.

‘With tearful eyes, I had to watch how the entire elephant family tried to help this little one without actually being able to do a thing.

Despite shᴏwing signs, it might be able to get up and walk away, it sadly ᴅɪᴇd on the side of the road.

“It was emotionally draining to watch and I never want to have to experience such a moment again. My last words to everyone who visits these magnificent Parks all over the world, please take care and don’t over speed as the ʟᴏss of such a beautiful life as in this case is absolutely unnecessary!” Heidi Haas said

Local rangers were called in to help.
