No one should feel entitled to put someone down because of their face, some physical defect, or any feature of their appearance. We know very well that the true worth of a person or an animal is within. A dog who has always been rejected for having a strange face and surprising many people has finally found happiness in a home where they love her as she is.
There are people who consider beauty to be a material attribute while the soul is responsible for shining with its own light. That is why anyone with the ability to see with the heart knows how to recognize true beauty. Sadly, no one has seen this dog this way. Bonnie is a helpless border collie wandering the streets despised for her status.
Bonnie is dying in Romania due to the serious ɪɴᴊᴜʀᴇᴅ she sustained. It ʟᴏsᴛ part of its snout, mouth, tail and left front leg was also badly ɪɴᴊᴜʀᴇᴅ. Fortunately, the Beacon Animal Rescue Center Foundation prevented that ending. Deciding to adopt a child, she was taken to England for medical treatment and to find a home.
The organization shared Bonnie’s case on its Facebook page. That’s how Kate Comfort, 29, met her fall in love with Bonnie and couldn’t give her up.
“The fact that no one loves her makes me love her more, she is vulnerable and she needs love. It turned out that her perfect home was ours and we ended up adopting Bonnie on our own,” Kate said.
Kate admits that she was initially shocked by how Bonnie looked, but the more time she spent with her, the more she got used to it.
After the adoption, the couple started a fundraising campaign to get Bonnie a prosthetic leg, but her leg wound kept opening. “We realized that it would be ᴄʀᴜᴇʟ to have Bonnie get sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ to try to make her look more normal. Our Bonnie is not perfect at all, we love her just the way she is and if someone gets offended by how she looks, it’s her problem, not ours”, said Kate.
They just made sure he was okay and all his wounds were healed. He is ᴘᴀɪɴʟᴇss and agile like the other dogs in the pair.
Animals are forgiving creatures, they never cease to amaze us with their tolerance even after being ᴍɪsᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴇᴅ and abused. Despite everything, she doesn’t trust people, she’s incredibly sweet.
“Bonnie is one of the best things that could happen to us and I’m so glad I gave her the home and family she deserves,” Kate commented.
Although Bonnie has received some negative messages from emotionless people, there are still a lot of followers who love to see her photos.
It is not known for sure what happened to this poorly marked dog, although it may not look like your average dog, it is no different from any other in attitude and personality.
