Hearing a puppy cry in his sleep is ʜᴇᴀʀᴛʙʀᴇᴀᴋɪɴɢ, especially when you know you can ease their pain.
A dog named Maggie is staying at a pet lodge in Canada that also houses pets. When she heard the two puppies crying she snuck out of her kennel to comfort them.
She has given up her puppies to new owners, spending the night at Barker’s Pet Motel and Grooming while their owners are busy.
Family-run business in St Albert, Alberta, USA that provides daycare and boarding and is open to rescue dogs with nowhere to go.
It was only after the group reviewed their CCTV the next morning that they discovered what Maggie had been up to during the night and they couldn’t help but smile happily. “We see a lot of lovely things here at Barkers but this story is somewhat intriguing.”
The newest adopted puppies are from the Alberta Animal Rescue Team, also with us now a newly adopted dog from the Humane Society, whose puppy was taken away approx. two weeks ago. “Last night, maggie Maggie must have heard the babies cry and got out of their kennels to lie next to their room. We held them for a while and all three were very happy!”
After spending the night together, Maggie’s owner comes to pick her up – and is happy to know all about her babysitting duties.
After this event, Maggie stayed with us from time to time. Puppies find homes very quickly.
One of the many reasons I love dogs so much – there has never been a more honest, lovable and loyal animal. They have shown me so many times exactly who this is and what they are built for.
Made our hearts sob! Fortunately, I have seen this many times in my life. But this dog is exceptionally smart – very smart and he knows exactly what he wants to do. Maggie clearly has a generous heart – she has a lot of love to give.
Dogs are really just loving and gentle souls. It’s amazing how they love us unconditionally.
