A passing car noticed Violet and many other dogs Cʜᴀɪɴᴇᴅ with extremely heavy metal chains that not only prevented the canines from moving freely, but also injured them.
When Violet was rehabilitated, she was about two years old, and Angela Stell, the founder and director of the organization, thought she had been chained her whole life.
In New Mexico, it is against the law to leash dogs when they are not in human care. Violet and five other dogs were found on a property there.
The county sheriff’s office was sent to the site to try to track down the owners, but it appears the dogs were left there. The struggle for recovery begins when NMDOG takes all of them, including Violet.
Stell continued: “She was surprised and still a bit worried. According to them, Violet’s actions may have led to the abuse”.
Thankfully, the puppy is now in good condition and recovering from his emotional trauma; once she fully recovers she will be able to be adopted!
