In one of the worst cases of animal neglect reported on a beach in Hawaii, a dog was found Cᴜᴛ, covered with an infected open wound and Bᴜʀɪᴇᴅ alive.
She had lost most of her fur and was in a state of shock when she was rescued. Six weeks later, you won’t believe her change.
The dog was found buried alive in the sand at West O’ahu Beach. She suffered from swelling, sunburn, and lost most of her fur. After receiving emergency treatment, veterinary staff discovered she was “bleeding from every inch of her body”.
A PAWS of Hawaii Facebook post read: “This beautiful girl was found by one of our team members. Someone just buried her and they have a machete so who knows what will happen next.” The animal rescue team quickly took her to Aloha Affordable Veterinary Services for treatment.
Found with cuts all over his body. Veterinarian Kelly Dowdall-Gaberson said: “Severe sunburn, damage, swollen extremities, it’s a sign that she is very dehydrated and poorly cared for.” Ku’ulei Durand , executive director of Hawaii’s PAWS, told the news channel: “Her skin, if you could smell her, would be rancid because she had so many infected open wounds.” The man buried her, we are said to have started dismembering her body.
The dog was named Leialoha (“beloved child”) by rescuers and cared for by an adoptive family, who after four days made amazing progress with the frightened puppy. Hey, they initially just left the kennel to go to the bathroom. She smelled horrible from being buried and a skin disorder that swells and flushes. I tried to pick her up to move her from the travel kennel to a very large dog kennel, but she was sobbing.
Leialoha’s adoptive mother, Amanda, wrote on Facebook. “Leialoha has come a long way, she goes out while we have friends over to see what’s for dinner and likes to stay under the coffee table. She has a long way to go, but the worst is over.”
Thanks to the great care with Aloha Affordable Veterinary Services, foster mom Amanda, as well as the love, care and donations the community has sent, Leialoha, has now fully grown her colored coat back. beautiful white and brown, has even found a permanent home in Hawaii. Amanda Krasniewski and her husband later adopted Leialoha, and thanks to their previous pet experience, they managed to give this adorable puppy the life he deserves.
Despite everything she’s been through, this dog has recovered so amazingly she’s barely recognizable.
