Brave, Loyal Dog Saves Owner’s Life From Catamount Aᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ: ‘My Dog Is My Hero’

Dogs make such loyal and loyal friends. When their owners are in trouble, they are always ready to help, even if it puts them in danger. They have remarkable intuition, similar to the brave dog that successfully repelled a mountain lion while saving its owner’s life.

Eva’s happy owner, a 2-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois, is Erin Wilson of Trinity County, California. Just moments before, they were walking peacefully by the river when suddenly a calm day turned dangerous.

According to the Sacramento Bee, a mountain lion is said to have lunged at Erin while howling and ripping off her coat. Erin called Eva because no one else was nearby, and the devoted dog ran to her aid. As for Erin, Eva bravely approached the mountain lion, “hit it pretty hard” and diverted the big cat’s focus away from Erin. However, the mountain lion overpowered the dog and “grabbed the head” causing it extreme pain.

The big cat was quickly defeated by Erin using stones and wood as weapons. She also enlisted the help of a passing driver to help her, who used pepper spray to neutralize the wild animal.

The brave dog survived after being taken to the hospital, despite all the difficulties. To help with Eva’s medical expenses, Erin has set up a GoFundMe page. She stated that her hero is recovering and that medical professionals are “optimistic”. She remained very sedated until we were certain that the pressure inside her skull had eased because she was not out of danger, the authors added. Sʜᴇ ʜᴀᴅ ᴀ ᴘᴇʀꜰᴏʀᴀᴛᴇᴅ ᴇᴛʜᴍᴏɪᴅ sɪɴᴜs, ᴛᴡᴏ ᴄʀᴀᴄᴋs ɪɴ ʜᴇʀ sᴋᴜʟʟ ᴀɴᴅ ᴀʀᴏᴜɴᴅ ʜᴇʀ ʟᴇꜰᴛ ᴇʏᴇ ᴡᴀs ʜᴇᴀᴠɪʟʏ ᴇᴅᴇᴍᴀᴛᴏᴜs, ᴀꜰꜰᴇᴄᴛɪɴɢ ʜᴇʀ ᴠɪsɪᴏɴ.

Despite suffering terrible injuries, Eva was able to save her master. Captain Patrick Foy of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife argues that it can be concluded that the dog saved the woman’s life. Erin posted on GoFundMe that “my puppy is my hero” and that “I owe her my life.”

You are a brave woman, Eva! We appreciate your bravery in protecting your master by fighting this mountain lion. It reminds us of the loyalty and vigilance of dogs.
